Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten

Rupandehi, Lumbini, Nepal
A Branch of Ekikrit School Nepal

Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten is a compassionate educational initiative dedicated to providing quality learning opportunities for children in the sacred land of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Established as a branch of Ekikrit School Nepal, this institution reflects a strong commitment to inclusiveness, sustainability, and child-centered education in the Terai region.
This project began with the grace and blessings of Rutoku Komyo’s Sangakusi Murao Tairyu Roshi of Gessouji, whose deep compassion and belief in education as a path to social transformation have inspired its foundation. Guided by his vision, Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten aims to bring meaningful and high-quality education to children who need it most.
In 2022, a 10 ana land was successfully acquired in Lumbini for the construction of the school’s permanent campus. This land purchase marked a significant milestone and demonstrates a long-term commitment to building a stable, child-friendly, and sustainable educational environment.
The project is currently under the process of official registration, with documentation targeted for completion by 2026. Following registration, the school will begin operation in a rented facility for 1 to 2 years, ensuring that learning can start without delay. Construction of the school’s own building is planned to begin in 2027, after which the institution will transition to its purpose-built campus.

Our Mission and Educational Values

The heart of Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten lies in its mission to provide free and affordable quality education, especially for:

  • Girls
  • Needy and underprivileged children of Lumbini

We believe that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating equal opportunities. Our learning approach emphasizes compassion, discipline, creativity, and moral values alongside academic development.

Long-Term Vision

Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten is designed as the foundation of a larger educational journey. Our long-term goal is to expand the institution step by step up to higher secondary school level, allowing children in Lumbini to complete their education within their own community.
This vision is grounded in reality. Over three years of extensive surveys and field studies were conducted throughout Lumbini to understand the social, economic, and educational needs of the region. These efforts helped shape a project that reflects the true face of Lumbini while aligning with sustainable development goals.

Modern and Child-Friendly Infrastructure

A preliminary architectural sketch has already been prepared to guide future construction. The planned infrastructure will include:

  • Modern and safe classrooms
  • Child-friendly learning spaces
  • Clean water and sanitation facilities
  • Open areas for play and creativity
  • Environmentally conscious and sustainable design

Our goal is to create a space where children feel secure, inspired, and motivated to learn.

How This Works: A Sustainable Education Model

To ensure long-term sustainability and independence, Ekikrit School Nepal follows a self-supporting, non-profit education model.
We have already established the Ekikrit Enyu School in Kathmandu, which operates as the cheapest non-profit-motive school in the capital. The primary purpose of opening the Kathmandu school is not profit, but to generate modest revenue that directly supports educational initiatives in Lumbini.
Through this model:

  • Revenue collected in Kathmandu is used to support teachers in Lumbini
  • By supporting just three teachers, we can educate approximately 90 students
  • This approach ensures maximum impact with minimal cost

This sustainable model allows quality education to reach remote and underserved areas without heavy dependence on donations alone. The same structure will be replicated across Nepal, gradually expanding the Ekikrit education chain while maintaining affordability and compassion at its core.

Building Nepal–Japan Friendship Through Education

The guidance and kindness of Murao Tairyu Roshi extend beyond borders. His compassion has become a bridge connecting Nepal and Japan through education, spirituality, and shared human values.
This collaboration not only strengthens cultural ties between the two nations but also lights the path toward a brighter future for Nepalese children. Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten stands as a symbol of hope, cooperation, and shared responsibility for the next generation.

A Promise for the Future

Ekikrit Gessou Kindergarten is more than a school it is a promise. A promise to educate, uplift, and empower children in Lumbini through compassion, vision, and sustainable action. With careful planning, dedicated support, and strong moral guidance, this initiative aims to transform lives and communities for generations to come.
